New University Life

After awaiting THE DAY!!! to move into hostel all the way in Kedah and far away from home, I decide to cry and miss home after getting here.

18th July
Left home with all the 1 big luggage, 1 medium sized luggage, 1 big box, 2 buckets, comforter, bolster and all that I need 10.30am.. tai Yee Cheong used his Avanza to fetch me and mom and Tai Yee all the way to Kedah... A long 6 hours journey begun and each kilometre closer to Kedah the more I miss my mother and home... Hug mummy all the way. We stopped over at Tapah for lunch and we ate KFC.. hahaha.. We continued our journey. Reached our destination which is the Swiss Inn Sungai Petani at about 4.30pm more or less.. hehe.. settled in then went out for dinner at Village Mall.. Had Secret Recipe for dinner and then grabbed a cup of Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappucino with whipped cream from Starbucks there.. At least there is Starbucks and Chatime. No problems there.. The whole night I was crying and I couldn't sleep because I felt so down and don't know who else to go to but God. Cried until I fell asleep at about 3am??? not sure what the time was anymore..

19th July
D-day headed over to AIMST University Kedah at about 7.45am after breakfast from the Hotel. When we reached there, there were already so many people~ Gan Jiong~ went over to line up and got the number 25. Well at least I din get 100 something. Things were moving faster than I actually expected it to and it actually means I have to be apart from my mother earlier than expected. T_T Was really sad la but I have to overcome it.. I thought to myself.. But the heart hurt sso badly that till now I still cry when I think of it.  Then we went to the room which is on the higher up fifth floor by stairs! NO ELEVATOR!! exercise everyday man~ hahaha...  Took so long to clean, wipe, sweep and unpack. Took my own sweet time to unpack to lengthen the time to be with my MOM. but the time still have to end. i finished everything at 12 in time when for lunch. But they had to leave. Despite feeling like I want to cry but I kept my tears so that My mom doesn't worry bout me. But when I saw them leave I just started crying. My roommate who was walking with actually tried to console me. we had lunch and  met a few coursemates who were actually her friends. By the way, My roommate's name is Kristie Tan Hwei Yee. Very nice girl.  We went for Orientation Night for an hour where a senior talked us through a few stuff and shared his experience. Then at night we went out for dinner because  Hwei Yee's boyfriend has a car and yea we need to get quite a number of stuff.. So I met a new friend Huam Zhe Shen and his friend he brought along Hoong Lun. We went for Sushi King.. hahah

Had a great time going out to Amanjaya Mall and it was a big mall. Bought quite a number of stuff there.. tehehehe.. But when I got back, bathed and then started to think crazy stuff again, I cried quietly at a corner where my study table is... Then my friend Sheau Huei fb me and help me la.. A senior from Leo club, Wong Tze Cheng introduced to me by Lion Kenneth also helped me through by talking to me, advising and also occupied a lot of my time and thoughts. Was very thankful to have both of them to console the emotional brain and heart of mine

Day 2 At Aimst Hostel. Realize housemates in room 1 are Malays from Biotech degree and room 3 are Indians from Foundation in Science. We are in room 2. But the house is very very very dirty because they don't clean after themselves nor do they throw all the rubbish away. So there are a lot of ants and dust outside. So dirty, I had to sweep the floor.. wash the toilet a bit but it will become filthy again Cause they don't clean up after they dirty it. So eventually I decide not to go out unnecessarily. So i keep my room clean enough for me to live and be comfortable...

We then went out again at 11 am to Village Mall for a movie. wahahaha.. we watched Red 2. Movie starring Bruce Willis and other talented actor and actresses. Laugh my mind out and had quite a lot of fun. Before th movie we went to Tesco to get a few other stuff cause we find we need a lot of other stuff because we're being selfish and we don't wanna share with the dirty housemates. heehehe.. After the Movie we went for pizzas at Dominos... Oh I forgot to Introduce Aaron Yeo a friend of Esther(from MCKL) also same batch..

After pizza we left and went straight back to Uni. Went out separate ways into our hostels and then gathered again for dinner bout 8pm I think. After dinner we went for a walk around AIMST. A short tour for the newbie(me). It's was quite a nice walk because I was able to see many many pretty stars. It has been a while since I saw so many stars at one go.. The Uni building's night view was great too.. So we talked and talked so many random things. We continued our talk back at the cafeteria till about 11pm. We talked about all kinds then I don't know how it got to Ghost stories where it started to get scary. Kinda panicked and rush back to hostel. bathed quickly cos scared.. hahah.  Wasn't able to sleep until about 2am. I kept myself awake by blogging and all. hahahaha..

20Th July
It is a Sunday, there was nothing much to do and we didn't feel like going out because we went out two days straight already plus it is a very small space and nothing much to see so it'll be quite boring if we keep going there.. :) So we ate breakfast in the room since we woke up about 9am and we really didn't feel liek going anywhere else... We then went down for lunch a little after 12pm. and sat there till about 2pm.. Went to library and did a little light studying on Anatomy and Physiology. at about 4 we went for Badminton in the Sport's COmplex!! Awesome!! exercise!! Something I need Cause I'm getting fatter and fatter!!! So it was a great time exercising and playing badminton with the new batch mates!! After sweating and exercising! we decided to get fat again by going for dinner an dessert in the cafeteria!! HAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that was our Sunday~

21st July
First Day of Orientation :)
Orientation by seniors are scary and obviously ragging sessions. Well ragging us is not the big idea because it's orientated in a way it's to test our mental abilities and our abilities to lead. It was a good thing for us. It made me think a lot. Not only how MBBS is going to be like but our life ain't an easy life. We're responsible for every action we take and not to take things lightly.. so basically it is all about working together with team mates, trust, punctuality, precision and get used to stressful situations..

Recent Events...

Well sorry  for not updating the blog as often as I could and promised. But many things happened since last month and I had no time to breath to think things through until now.

16th June 2013
A surprise birthday celebration well plan but failed to execute because of the nice-ness and a person who doesn't know how to lie. Most of them said they were busy and asked me to go elsewhere for something but I rejected it because I've already promised to go out with Chit Fei. She asked me to go for dessert with her and forced me to wear skirt and dress nicely.. FISHY~~ lol.. Then she reluctantly answered my questions because she didn't know what else to tell me. hahaha.. So after our dessert she fetched me home to change cause the rest weren't there yet. We went over to Coffee Berry at Tayton View, Cheras to meet up with a bunch of them. They kind of realize I knew what was happening but yeah, don't want to burst anymore bubbles.. haha.. In the end they brought a burger with plenty of chilli and tomato sauce all over it with a candle stuck int he middle. Well I was thinking that this is a new idea and well cake is too mainstream~ LOL.. the they started the genius idea of shoving my face into the cake. well that's always mainstream and never changing. COme on ppl!! grow up?  but in the end they brought a real birthday cake. Long story short, they don't want to spoil the cake so they didn't shove my face to it but they rubbed chilli and tomato sauce on my face and hands.. :( lol..I mean despite the fail and lame-ness of every birthday surprise that NEVER works, I love and appreciate them for actually taking the time to spend it with and for me. they could have very well slept at home after long busy day of work or studied at home for exams but No. they came out and spent the night with me.

17th June 2013
A package arrived at my doorstep and my name is written on it. So it's mine. and inside the package there is a letter from AIMST University that says :
Well I was speechless and overwhelmed by joy.  So I thought to myself, well i have about 2 more months to go before the registration date so I can procrastinate a little longer.. :)

Lunch at a Korean restaurant and then dinner at a chinese restaurant. Both in leisure Mall. But then we had a early birthday celebration with other family members.

18th June 2013
Went out for lunch at Sunway Pyramid with my favourite food in mind :) TGI Friday's. I ate and filled my tummy till it's to the brink our bursting. LOL... Plus it was also my Aunt's birthday. So double birthday celebration. :) Then dessert at Hui Lau Shan. :) wootss~ fatss!!! But worth it.. Shopping for uni as well. trying clothes that I've not tried before... Well I agree with the awkwardness but I enjoyed trying expensive clothes but not buying them. But feel guilty. hahaha and tempted to get it..

everyday birthDAY has to come to an end but this year, before the clock stroked midnight YOU didn't call to wish me anymore. You have been calling every year since we met as friends till up until last year. You only called on 23rd, after work in Singapore. Clear cut answers lets me know everything is over and never begun! but thank you for calling all the way from Singapore.. despite having much in common and share much experience together but those are memories but never a relationship but u have a special place in my heart ever since that day! we're friends now.. and forevermore.

An additional birthday celebration was also conducted in Hilton PJ for a buffet lunch witht he extended family. :)

Now the last week on June and I already have many plans for July before entering University and then I was shocked by the worst news. My intake is carried forward to 19th of July.. @.@ that particular i rushed to get my Uni stuff and PTPTN stuff done.. Now I only have less than a week. I'm only 80% done.. OM..Gosh~~

JULY
The time is getting shorter and shorter... my heart pumps faster and my brain starts to process more stuff in the short period of time...

a few days before MCKL's 30th Anniversary celebration I was asked to prepare a speech for the Thanksgiving Service before the event but I refused and don't know what to say but was a bit sort of 'forced' to because Ms Chan insisted on me giving the testimony. But God is gracious, I  asked for forgiveness and asked if I should. Then God sent Ms Moey to say I don't have to testify because there wer too many people to do it plus she offered to give me a ticket(FOC) for the Anniverary Dinner. Lucky aren't I?? But I had to sit with her family and family friend and thank goodness a few other students.

13th JULY 2013 Thanksgiving Service &  MCKL's 30th Anniversary Night
Thanksgiving Service was quite interesting. First time attending a full length service and also interesting to hear seniors' testimony. Then Yin Yi my 1207beta classmate helped me put on make up :) so nice of her to do so cause I don't have any of it at home.. Then Jamie, Yin Yi and Wei Liang all followed me to Hilton because I don't know the way and also becasue they want a lift to KL Sentral which is just opposite Hilton. :) Btw, the Dinner is held in the Hilton KL Hotel...  Met up with all my 1007 seniors which I missed so mcuh because all of them went all over the world, US, UK, and etc~ So it ws sort of a small reunion la~ then a few 1107s.. So i was happy la...

Was blessed to be with friends the whole night and door gift, light pink powerbank which is very cute and nice... hehehehe..

Future Ahead and The Past on Me..

Haven't really thought of a great future lately since A levels left a mark on me. Basically I had a dream of studying abroad with scholarship when I had my 10 A's in SPM but that dream was broken into a million pieces when A levels results came out and I was devastated. Since 6 months ago, all I had in mind was to only be able to get a place in local public or private universities. But till now, I only had an offer for a twinning program in Melaka-Manipal Medical University for RM348 000 tuition fees and 2400 USD for accomodations which I cannot afford. So i turned down that offer eventhough I already have friends there which are Praba, Siong Keat and Samuel. Now, I'm still waiting for an offer from AIMST University situated in Kedah which is my one and only last hope now since USM turned me down.
I lost sight of what I wanted to be since A levels, but now I aim to be a doctor but still I have a small hope and a small window of light left. I really do hope I'm able to make it there by starting with an offer. The past weeks, I've received many news where my friends are going abroad to further their studies, be it in UK, Ireland, Indonesia or Australia. I really am happy for down, but deep down inside, I feel really sad. Sad because it would be years before I would be able to see them again but also sad because I'm not one of those who are going overseas. How wonderful it would be if I could be in their shoes. Well, first thing is I can't even afford it even if I have an offer from an overseas university.
Medicine overseas I think is an impossible idea but forensics science on the other hand is a possible idea. I found a university I think is suitable as it is situated right in front of Central Station of Sydney which I could take a train from my aunt's house. A wonderful idea but, I don't think I could afford a 4 year course including an Honours degree for about 90-100 000 AUD. Then my aunt came up with an idea that she would lend me money to study over there. At first thought, it is a wonderful thing to say and to be able to do it is a different thing  because it's my dream to study abroad but it's not my passion which is medicine. Still Forensics Science is also another good field where I can spend my life doing. Still thinking about it and will be going to the counsellors at IDP to check it out.
Now my dilemma is, would I miss my life back here in Malaysia and most of all my family? I used to think that it is alright to leave them here and go study and I won't miss them at all. But due to recent events where I got really sick and down with tonsillitis, I woke up in the middle of the night and gave it a real deep thought. Who would look after me when I am sick? No more cozy bed, no more people washing and cooking for me. No more hugs, no more kisses. No mummy to do things for me when I don't feel like doing it. My things readily available for me here whenever I need it, but in hostel, I won't have much things to go around with.  But to venture out and to be more independent than I already am, to be in a new environment and adapt it is my stronghold but could I?
My friends and my dearest friend, I would leave them behind. or would they leave me behind? Will miss them so much with a few in exception where I would miss them most! The luxury where I can meet up, chat, call, and sms them here, but if I study outstation of overseas, that luxury would be gone. Despite telling myself that if our friendship is true, it would last forever but I am really afraid that that friendship might fade due to the distance we have. There is also this problem with long term and distant relationship!Even if I do have someone I have feeling for I wouldn't think of telling that person because it is a matter of time where the relationship can end if it's a one sided thing. Unless that person truly loves me and I love him then it would last long. But is it possible? If it happens, it happens, but I wouldn't think too far now. All I want to do is to spend my last few months with my precious friends and family before I start studying. Something which is simple enough but not easy to do because everyone is busy with their own life and also they need to spend time with their own family.
This year is especially import and and different, henceforth I will try to make the best out of everything I do. Spend as much time as I can with family and friends. Take the opportunity to bond with them in anyway possible and not think anymore negative thoughts. What is going to happen in the future will happen because it is fate and God will decide what happens but, what is going to happen now and in the future is because of what I choose to do now. Think carefully and live life to the fullest!

Kuala Selangor Trip 2013

On 24th May 2013, we set out on a journey to Kuala Selangor. :) It was a cloudy but not rainy day. Just perfect for our journey.  We started of sluggishly because planners do not know what they are doing and they intended to pair us randomly in cars which ended up useless.FAIL!!!! We ended up sitting in the car with people we prefer rather than randomly. You can call this grouping or have gangs but what is the point of sitting in a car for hours with people you do not 'click' with right? We had two cars. Onw with 5 and one with 4 people.
Car 1 : Carlson(driver), Melanie,Yen yee, Ken ren and Huang Ying in a Persona or whatever it is. LOL
Car 2 : Chee Lee(driver), Chit Fei, Stephanie and I.

Top Car 1 and Bottom Car 2
Well, we were suppose to only have an hour long journey till we reach our destination but due to traffic jam in Kuala Selangor itself and also crazy GPS guiding us to God knows where, we took almost 2 and a half hours with low fuel.. Walao eh.. No petrol station on the way or miss the petrol station cause to busy looking at the roads to take. aiyoyoyo.. but I'm glad we ended up there safely and soundly... The jam was due to the Wesak Day festival on that day and everybody in town was going to temples. Be it chinese or indians. So the one way into town is to pass this jam sites..

We then stopped in the Town of Pasir Penambang in Kuala Selangor. Stephanie who goes there once every two months took us to buy Heong Piah which was very delicious and I'm looking forward to get more of it.. hahaha. Then she took us to restaurant for lunch in a very remote area where only locals and usual customers go. The food was splendid and was super cheap. I ate all that for only RM10.. In KL, I think it's about Rm50 per person.. And because one of our friend isn't all keen for seafood due to her allergies, we called for veggies and conventional taufu...
marmite mini sotong

My personal favourite!! 'Lai Liu Ha' or also known as Mantis Shrimp deep fried in salted eggs~ sooo yummmyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!
The view from the restaurant is actually quite serene except for the fact the river was murky and brown and there were plastics and coconuts floating by once in a while. hehe...

The night view is even more awesome which I will show you later.. hehe.. Now, after eating such an awesome meal we headed back to our cars and was later joined by
Car 3 : Wei Lek(driver), Sin Nee, Sheau Huei and Han Xing.

They joined us and we went to 3 different locations of the same beach. Remis Beach. The priceless expression on Ken Ren's face when he saw the 'clean' waters and the 'sandy' beach. hahaha. He was like what in the universe happened here? haha... And He mentioned.. 'GOOGLE MAP LIED TO ME!!!'. But in fact, we all know that Kuala Selangor does not have nice clean beaches and blue water. The water is murky grayish brownish greenish. I don't even know. Plus Carlson's GPS was even worse when his GPS pointed us to the middle of the sea~  The beach was full or sea shells than lined up perfectly like a wall but i's prickly. If not careful, we can hurt ourselves. We made a walk down the sea shore.....

There is also a very digusting monster in the sea water. It is very tiny, it bites, and it is a creepy crawley!!!arrrrr.. We dipped ONLY our feets in the water to just take a shot and also cool down. But we jumped right out of the water the second after the picture was taken because of some creepy crawling prawn like creatures crawled up out feet and started to bite us!! or eat us literally ate our skin!!!!!! Then we found this catfish being washed to shore where we were nearby and Wei Lek and Han Xing tried to take pictures of it but the waves kept pushing it back into the sea. Well, boys~ they kicked the fish up to shore and guess what? The creepy crawling insects which was biting us came crawling out of the DEAD catfish and bringing out it's intestines full of this insects. We scram and we jump up to shore where it was dry and far from the insects!!!!

We just left and went to another part of the beach where we didn't have to see those unfriendly creatures anymore. As we walked along the beach, we saw another 'friend' walking pass us! Mr Crab!!! hehe.. It was kinda lost and it was just trampling all over the place and finally it disappeared... We then reached the other side of the beach where we parked our car. We were trying to decide where else to go because it was only 4.00pm and we only needed to go to dinner later and then firefly after 8pm. And then somebody brought out a beach ball and we started to behave like 7 year old kids playing Monkey In the Middle. hahaha... People started staring at us but we didn't care.. You want to know why? it's because this is who we are. CHildish young adults with all the time in the world and we are trying to enjoy ourselves.. Some of us got trampled over, ball hitting people at places they shouldn't and  yea, let nature take it's course. We really had fun until it started to rain.! haha.. We also had ice cream on the beach. tehehehehe... When it poured, we made our way back to the restaurant we had lunch earlier to have dinner! Because that place is just superb and we have no where else to go!! hahaha..

The EPIC moment where we turned out to be like kids, fighting for a ball.. hahahaha.. Small bully big!! ahhaha
WHen I say the view is superb and awesome I mean it!!!

The dinner is even better than the lunch. In addition to the awesome view in the evening, the dinner was to die for.. hahaha. We had sweet and sour crab, steam egg and ginger crab, two types of veggies,  one plate of beancurd,  one plate of bamboo clam or also known as American Jacknife Clam, The afternoon's Mantis Shrimp for those who haven't tried, we also had Sotong(Calamari rings) in wet butter and curry sauce. They also served us with this very tasty Fried bread which we love!! wuaa.. finger licking good. I can't wait to go back there again withmy loved ones, be it family or future boyfriend(if i have any). I just love the place!
Not all the food stated above were served yet, but when it was i was busy eating my crab so hands were dirty. LOL
I ate to my heart's content there and was gobbling up the crab since the rest of them don't want to dirty their hands and some who weren't so close to us kinda kept to themselves. The rest of our gang were like who cares and were eating with all our fingers!! haha.. It's what being friends are about, you don't care how they eat but actually enjoy with them.. I only paid RM14 for the whole dinner where I had so much seafood. wuaaa... We had a group photo taken after the meal just before we left to see the fireflies... Plus you can see how much of seafood and how messy we are.. LOL

We then left around 7.30pm. The road was dark and scary as we made our way to Kampung Kuantan to see their Kelip-Kelip or also known as Fireflies. The journey was about 30 minutes away from the town of Pasir Penambang. Bur it is situated in and rural area where the road into the Village itself is very dark and surrounded by trees. It was really creepy and Steph decided to skip her way to another car so she left me alone in the back seat which makes me feel even more uneasy. hahaha.. When we reached there, we actually got down the car and rushed into the area where we get to buy our tickets as there were many people lining up and We were afraid that they might close up. haha. so silly of us.. The boat ride costs RM50 per boat where it can only fit 4 persons per boat. But there were 13 of us and for safety reasons we can't fit 5 small people in a boat. SO we had to take 4 boats instead of 3.. we split into our boat team where every team must have a boy. Despite the long queue, we managed to squeeze in and finished our ride by 9.00pm. hahaha.. The fireflies were located along the river on trees and it really does look like Christmas trees where the lights shimmer. I really hope to go there again with a person whom I truly treasure and treasures me and also enjoy looking at this magnificent creation of God. :) I tired to take pictures, but it only shows tiny little lighted spots on a black coloured background.

It was a great experience together but one last thing before we left. Chit Fei lost her I-phone 4 and we searched about an hour for it and it's gone. So beware of where you put your things and double check your pockets and all your belongings before you leave a place. Because once you lose it, it's goodbye. But at least she got to change her phone. tehehee...

It was a wonderful experience to be able to go all out and have fun. despite the hiccups and quarrels before and during and after trip, I still enjoyed it very much and Yes I still do love some of them very much. They will always be in my memory and hey will always be my best friends.. :)
