Life as a student

Since before I got here, I'm sort of excited to be fa away from home. But as time passes, I really miss home and always an thinking bout home. I may not show it enough as I don't keep calling back home just so they don't worry of every little problem I have. Yes it has only been 4 months since I got here but I am already feeling the stress as a student, as a girl and as a living person who is growing up and learning about the world with a big leap from what I know little about which is life!  I've had only two breaks so far which Deepavali and Hari Raya break but I've already gone home 3 times. Twice by bus and once by flight and the next few trips home will be by flight as well as it saves up a lot of travelling time eventhough it requires much more $$ if you know what I mean. But the last time I went back we all celebrated Grandma's 80th birthday and one which is unforgettable. Everyone was there. Susan yee yee, Tai yee, from australia , Grandaunt Margaret from uk even my brother who is busy working in Macau. I was really to see all the happy faces but one thing is for sure, I had a hard time sleeping on the sofa since there were so many people around and all the rooms are full. LOL. But I really did enjoy it and hope there are more celebrations for grandma int he coming years and hope to be there every year. Yes my tears flows down my cheeks each time I talk about home and each time I miss them. But I guess this happens to everyone and I'm one of the million who is super sentimental bout stuff like that.

Remember all the last posts I've ever posted about roommates and best friends, well I guess it takes a lot of time to see who are your true friends who will stay by your side and also see the true colours in some people. When friends becomes your enemy it's easy just don't talk to them but when your roommate turns into your biggest nightmare, there's nothing much you can do other than ignoring her, try to adjust myself and complain about it! I know there is such a thing called changing rooms but it's harder done than said. It's annoying when she compares everything you have and she makes sure she get's it too. It's really annoying! And can you believe it that she even compares time of sleeping and waking up. she waits until I wake up before she does and she'll sleep whenever I do. She goes out when I'm out and she stays in when I'm in.. Creepy!! stalker!! yerr!! Privacy needed!! urghhh!!  Luckily I still have Ling  Wei around or else I would have already moved out or even think I'm having paranoia cause of all the things happening around me. T_T  Enough about crazy people let's talk about the happy stuff that has happened this few months...

1) Penang Trip
People I used to be fond of went with my for my first trip to Penang but I was a short one.
Ling wei went along and so is a guy whom I really am into, Min Zhi.(intro later)
We took the ferry over and made our way around with Huam's car. Our main aim was to buy books and then food! ALthough there were hiccups before the journey and all the drama started by Kristie but it was quite smooth there after.  I had a nice time eating and looking at parts of Penang which I have not been before. One of which is Straits Quay!

Thinking back, despite the bad memories I have this 2 months I had with Kristie around. I also had good moments with her before she started to get on my nerves eventually. :( And yes Min Zhi is one guy from my batch who is a year older than me and he lives in Penang. Y did I fall for him? he does no have the looks nor anything yet I'm head over heels for him. And No he does not have feelings for me but he is always there for me but he is also the one who makes me emotional everyday.. SO we're hanging in thin air and still unsure of our status!

There were plenty of events that has occured but I'll onky highlight important ones.
Next :

2) Mooncake Festival
Organized by BDS studennts. My first mooncake festival away from home but I got to have homemade mooncakes all the way from home thanks to Wayne Liew who is a friend in AIMST who was from KHS SJAM who I knew back then who went home and got it for me :) Long story cut short. LOL. I enjoyed myself that night. we had lanterns, candles and walks around AIMST that night. 'Khong Ming Teng' aka big lanterns which wishes are made upon before releasing it.

Oh by the way, short introduction to out small happy family called Low Profile. It comprises of Ling Wei(pig head), FuJie (whole pig), jeremy(cow head) and I(chicken head). A long story about why we came out out with this name but yes it's my small little study group and the closest thing I have to family here at AIMST. we have no secrets with each other and our secrets are safe. We spend most of our day together.  We can be crazy together and we can be ourselves with no worries.

Then came the second biggest event which is organized by MBBS students. Woots..
3) Halloween!!!!
We prepared our own halloween festival. Celebrating it first time in AIMST and it was quite successful for first timers like us. Although it is short but it was quite a wonderful event tas we only planned it 2 weeks before the event.
